Multi-Pure
    High Performance Water Filters
Under-Sink Installation

Multi Pure Water Filters are easy to install.  Many people prefer to hire a plumber, but if your handy with some simple plumbing you can save yourself some money by installing your own undersink water purification system.  Here is a simple guide to installation -

You'll need a drill and bit (1/2" will work) - White plumbers tape
and a small adjustable wrench.  Possibly an open end wrench, when
you tighten the faucet base, may work better for you.  You will also
need a phillips screwdriver to install the filter mount to the interior
of your cabinet.

A word of caution - Do not tighten the fittings any more than
necessary.  You can always tighten them up some more if
needed later.  Use plumbers tape on the threads on all your
fittings to avoid leakage.

1 - Locate the incoming water supply.  Shut off the water
supply or you will have water shooting everywhere.

2 - Usually there is a hose that attaches to the incoming
cold water.  If you don't know which is which just run
the faucet on warm and feel the incoming lines. Hot,
     of course will warm up.

3 - Once you have located the cold water hose that runs
from the incoming supply - (pipe - may be cpvc or copper
or even an old iron pipe depending on the age of the
system) - Remove the cold water hose that runs from
the incoming water pipe and goes up to the cold water
     side of your faucet.

4   There should be a TEE included with the unit - Install the
TEE,  just screw it on to the incoming cold water supply pipe
using some pipe sealant or pipe tape to avoid any leaks.
Here is where you may have a problem-
Your incoming line and the TEE don't fit.  If that's the case
you'll have to  go to the hardware store and pick up an
     adaptor.  Not a big deal.

5.  Once you've got your TEE installed - Attach the bracket onto
the side of the interior of the cabinet below the sink, put it
up leaving 8 to 10 inches of clearance or more if possible from
the bottom of the cabinet so you can save space.  I always
recommend the left side, unless of course your left handed,
then it may be more be more convenient on the right.

6.  Run your hand under and behind the left rear corner
of the sink.  Feel back there, locate where would be the
best location to place the faucet taking into account
the size of the base of the faucet and allowing clearance
with the edge of your cabinetry where your sink sits down
into the cabinet itself.  Usually the center of the faucet
will locate approx 2 inches from where the top
of the sink (in the rear) curves down into the bowl of the sink.
This is the most critical part of the whole installation.
Take your time and be sure to locate the whole in the
best location where you have plenty of clearance under
the sink to install the washer and nut.

7   Drill a whole large enough for the threaded part of the
    faucet base to fit into.

8.  Put the washer the faucet sits on over the hose and
threaded part of the faucet and run the faucet blue
line down through the hole - then attach the faucet
using the nut and washer provided.

9.  Now install the plastic fittings into the filter top and the
side of the TEE where the "finger shutoff is".  The smaller
male fitting goes in the center of your filter housing.
The larger male fitting goes to the side of the top of
    the housing.
Install the female fitting to the side of the TEE.

10. Install the blue faucet line into the smaller center fitting
on the top of the filter housing and the larger white/clear line
from the tee to the other fitting on the top of the filter
housing. When installing the lines to the fittings just
push in firmly and then pull the part of the fitting
onto the line.  Once you look it over you'll see what
I'm talking about.   Then pull on the plastic line to be
     sure the connection is sound.

Re-install your hose for your faucet to the top of
the TEE.  (Here again - you may need an adapter)

11.  Install the filter to the top of the housing using care to get
the threads started right so the filter screws on like it should

Put the top and bottom of the filter housing together being
sure your O-ring is properly positioned.  Tighten the clamp.

12.  Turn the water back on.  Check for leaks.

13.  Turn on the filter's faucet and let it run while
turning over the filter and shaking it and then
turning it upright -  repeat this a few times.
By doing this it will help to clear the air trapped
inside the filter.   Let the water run for a few
minutes.  It will have a lot of air in it for a while.
Usually has cleared up within a few uses.  If not
just repeat the process, turning it over and letting
      the water run again.

 14.   Check for leaks again....

Note: The water enters the filter from the outside and the filtered
water comes out the top/center of the filter.
